Moms are like a box of chocolates. They come in all shapes, sizes and colours. Some moms have the best advice; others give the best hugs, some always do something unexpected to make you laugh while others are the most reliable person in the world. Regardless of what your mother’s flavour is, she has something in common with all the other mothers in the world – she is gooey with love.
So, what do our members have to say about their mothers?
I have the most amazing moms. 1) My biological mom is my best friend, and an amazing granny who constantly spoils my kids (against my orders). She constantly puts her family’s need before her own and is truly a blessing to me and my family. 2) My mom-in-law blessed me with a husband who loves me as I am. She treats me like her daughter and is always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. I’ve been lucky enough to have two amazingly super moms in my life and wouldn’t trade them for anything.
My mum is the best. And I wish I could give you a better description, but that’s really all there is to it. She’s the best hugger, the best cuddler, the best chef, and the best inspiration. She has the best smile, the best laugh, and gives the best advice.
My mother is the sweetest because she has a caring heart, a kind spirit and a gentle soul. She is selfless, goes above and beyond for the people around her always putting the needs of others above her own. There are no words that can fully describe just how amazing she is. I would not be the women I am today had it not been for her. #mothersday2018🌺🌸
My mom passed away when I was 6 years old. My sister, 16 at the time, left school and found a cleaning job. With that little money she fed me, put me through school and did every possible thing a mother would do for her children. It was hard, but my sister pulled through. She’s my sister, mother, pillar of strength and my hero😊 I love her very much and I’m so blessed to have her in my life😊💕💖💗💝💞💟
The sweetest person in my life😊
I can talk to her about anything. I know for a fact that no matter the issue and no matter the story, my mom will listen to the entire thing with nothing but compassion in her heart. I don’t ever need to wonder if she will judge me because I know for a fact that she never will.
I have never met a more selfless person. She has such a big heart, and I am constantly blown away by her devotion and passion for serving those around her. If I (or anyone else) needs anything, my mom is the first one to jump up, drop everything, and run to help.
My mom is special. And I’d be kidding myself to say that I tell her enough how much I appreciate her. There aren’t enough breaths in the day to thank her for all that she has done for me, and all that she will do for me. I love you MOM.
M – O – T – H – E – R
“M” is for the million things she gave me
“O” means only that she’s growing old
“T” is for the tears she shed to save me
“H” is for her heart of purest gold
“E” is for her eyes, with love-light shining
“R” means right, and right she’ll always be
Put them all together, and they spell “MOTHER”
My mom is sweet, which is her kind, loving and compassionate ways towards her loved ones. She’s a humble soul who always does so much for others without asking for anything in return. I don’t have to feel sad, lonely helpless cause she on call 24/7.
She is my queen
She is extraordinary
She is priceless
Love you, mama❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Mom is the sweetest because she does so much without a complaint
I wouldn’t be what I am if it wasn’t for my mom. She’s the sweetest, warm-hearted and giving woman in the world. She would spend her last cent to buy a neighbour groceries so that kids won’t sleep hungry. She collects grannies every Thursday to go to church without even complaining about petrol. She goes all out to help people in need even though she doesn’t get anything in return. She would tell me that a simple thank you blesses her heart. What an amazing woman I have by my side every single day, so blessed to have her.
Mom is a sweet because she held the dagger on the sharper edge while my father and his family told my mom they don’t want albino people in the family. My mom decided to leave with us to stay at the farm, and she raised us without compromising. Now, we are now grown twins sisters. #MothersDay2018
After I lost my mother, I thought life was over. That is until I met my mother-in-law. She makes me feel at home, and she treats me like her own. When I’m in need of advice, I run to her. When I’m scared, she pena her arms wide for me. She’s able to change my saddest moments into happiness. So, I’ve learnt that being a mother is not about the blood, but your willingness to donate to the lives of others. This Mother’s Day I want to look her straight in her eyes and say: “Mom, you’re the sweetest”.
See this woman right here? She is my saving grace. She is the sweetest woman ever. I wouldn’t be where I am now if it weren’t for her sacrifices; I wouldn’t be called a graduate if it weren’t for her prayers. I remember very well when my dad passed away in 2009, and my brother was doing matric, we all feared of how he might not go to varsity since now my mom is single and doesn’t really have a great job. But, this woman right here dropped out of Unisa so my brother can go to varsity. Four years later, I followed, and I thought she couldn’t afford it, but she did. She sacrificed not buying clothes for herself and not eating fancy food to see us in school. Losing my dad broke her, but because she is strong, she survived. I want to spoil her because she truly deserves it🙏
I wouldn’t know what words to say to describe my mom ‘cause none of the words could even come close to explaining what type of person she is. No words would do my mom justice, so all I will say is that she is truly a blessing in my life.

My happy emoticon, she brightens the darkest days.
“Life doesn’t come with a manual it comes with a mother”.
So, here is a simple poem for the woman who has etched love into my soul forever.
When I think I think of my mum, I start to get misty-eyed,
She is a lady in gold and an angel in disguise,
Her smile has the magic to light up the room,
Her gentle nature makes her ageless and like a rose in full bloom,
My mum happens to be my heroine and my anchor in life,
Her warrior nature was strengthened by so much strife,
But she never gave up and is a survivor it’s true,
My mum has so much wisdom to make you feel brand new,
I am thankful to have her as my mother forever,
And To live my life without her… never!
This pic was taken at my 5th birthday. Everyone looked so happy, especially my mum. Who would have thought that exactly 3 years later my dad would pass away? Yes, it was hard for my mum, but she made sure that my smile remained on my face right until this day. My mum is a real-life heroine as she always scatters rose petals to cushion my fall. She is always there as a confidant, lioness and a soul sister! My mum made my life a fairy tale with every aorta of her being, and for that, I will always be indebted to her❤️ I pray that I can be just like my mum and pass on her glorious legacy to future generations! Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums, young and old – you are so fierce and so bold ❤️
